When you think Halloween, ninjas don't come to mind right away, but they actually have been a - modest - costume staple for years. Whatever the trend might be every year, from Captain America to the Joker, they are still around.
The main advantage of ninja costumes is that they are good for people of all ages, from toddlers to adults. Not even mentioning those infamous turtles, they come in cute colorful models for the little ones and are mostly available for boys. Usually, they feature standard or animal masks (for example tigers or snakes), a black uniform with a red belt as well as a sword. Prices are pretty low, from $15 to $25.
Costumes become more serious for kids who are a little older as they want to look tough and dangerous. They come with regular or skull masks, are more detailed, sophisticated, while colors vary from black to white and yellow. Of course, weapons are now a must, whether it's a big sword, daggers or nunchuks. One can also notice a few models from girls, featuring a kimono, pants as well as a colorful belt. Prices go from $20 to $30.
When it comes to teens, male models are pretty similar to kids models but we notice an increased number of female models, whether they are sexy - tight pants with a top - or fairy-like - what about a butterfly ninja!! Prices are in the $30 to $40 range.
Adult ninja costumes don't take themselves as seriously as their younger counterparts with fat suits and old masters among others. They are pretty influenced by movies, from Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill to Star Wars) and assume fully their anachronisms. But the big difference with other age ranges is the popularity of female costumes, which have all been designed to be sexy, including short skirts, tight pants, corsets, high boots and daggers - of course, they have pretty much nothing to do with ninja uniforms but who cares. As for prices, they go from $20 to $80.
